Olympian, Anthony Clark visited St Comhghall’s Colllege Lisnaskea in association with the Sky Sports for Living project. Anthony is one of Badminton’s most prolific and respected players gaining over 100 caps for England, winning seven Commonwealth medals, two World Championship medals and representing Great Britain at two Olympic Games. Anthony presented an excellent, motivational workshop to a selected year 9 group who had taken part in an eight week Sky Sports Programme. 

Key Stage 3 Provision

 

Time Allocated to Sport

 

All students have three periods of P.E. per week in Key Stage 3 and two periods in Key Stage 4. There is an extensive extra-curricular programme of sport where all ability levels are catered for. Some of the extracurricular sports offered are as follow: Gaelic Football, Hurling, Netball, Gymnastics, Athletics and Basketball.

 

Our sports facilities

 

- Two standard equipped gymnasiums

 

- 4 Tennis Courts (which have a variety of uses including break, lunch and after school football)

 

- 4 Netball Courts and 1 outdoor Basketball Court

 

- 1 Football Pitch

 

- 1 All-Weather Pitch

 

- During the Athletics season we have a 300 metre 4 lane track

 

- Throwing areas for discus, shot and javelin

 

- 1 Long Jump Pit

 

- 1 High Jump Area

 

- 800 metre All-Weather fitness trail

 

Sporting Ethos

 

Sport promotes many of the personal, social and moral objectives of our school.

 

We fully understand the potential of sport and we recognise that sport is not just a playground for the elite. Maximum participation in all types of sports is our objective.
