About the Department
The ICT department is a dynamic and highly successful department where the needs of each individual student are addressed in the teaching and learning strategies which are implemented. The members of the department are committed to the learning needs of their pupils, as wide and varied as they may be.
Pupils in the ICT department enjoy working in the recently refurbished Computer Suite. The provision comprises two modern ICT Rooms each with approximately 25 PCs, an interactive whiteboard and networked printing facilities. Pupils also have access to scanners, digital cameras and a wide variety of software titles. In addition to the main ICT suites there are two book-able laptops trollies each comprising of 20 laptops, allowing wireless access for whole class teaching. Within the school there are a number of computer clusters associated with other subjects, in the technology department and the sixth form resource room.
- GCSE ICT - 4 classes per week
- BTEC IT - 4 classes per week
- AS/A2 ICT – 8 / 9 classes per week
