Why study Hospitality?

Choosing to study BTEC hospitality at Level 2 is a great decision to make for lots of reasons. Hospitality is a diverse and exciting industry. It provides food, drink and accommodation for people who are away from home, whether working, travelling or away on holiday. You will learn a variety of skills such as cooking, how to look after customers and how to plan a special event. These skills can be used in many setting, including hotels, restaurants bars and catering businesses, and can lead to great job satisfaction and perhaps the chance to travel.

 

These qualifications engage learners to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop skills that are essential for the modern-day workplace.

 

BTEC Hospitality Level 2 Award in Hospitality (Equivalent to 1 GSCE)

Units of study:

Unit 1:         Introducing the Hospitality Industry (externally assessed examination)

Unit2:          Working in the Hospitality Industry

Unit 3:         Food Safety and Health and Safety in the Hospitality Industry

Unit 9:         Planning, Preparing, Cooking and Finishing Food
