One multipart compulsory question based on stimulus materials and assessing themes of socialisation, inequality and research methods. (30%)

Options

One three part extended writing question must be answered from one of the following:

Family; Education; Mass Media; Sport. (20%)

 

Unit 2

UNIT 2: Understanding Social Structures (50%)

Part compulsory question based on stimulus materials and assessing themes of inequality, power, socialisation and research methods. (30%)

Options

One three part extended writing question must be answered from one of the following: Work; Power and Participation; Crime and Deviance; Global Citizenship. (20%)

Career Opportunities

Many sociology students go onto study this subject either on its own or as part of combined degree course. A background in Sociology is useful for many other subject areas. This may lead onto a wide variety of careers including Social Work, Journalism and Media, Law, criminology and teaching
